GRANTBROOK. OUR FIRST REAL HOME. OUR FIRST BIG PROJECT.

August 1st 2014.
We purchased Grantbrook for $289,000.00 CAD

BEFORE

After purchasing the house, we gutted the majority of the main floor.

Our first project was ripping out the existing tiles and cabinetry. During the demolition, we realized the main wall separating the dining room from the living room was already a false wall. We braced the second floor, removed the existing beam and replaced it with an engineered beam. We opened up the wall in the back corner to see if we could put in an extra bathroom, but decided to install a bar instead. It took us 3 months to finish the main floor and another 2 weeks to finish the upstairs, the following summer.
