SUNRISE ON THE LAKE

SUNRISE ON THE LAKE

Our days mostly begin when the sun comes up, Hunter starts to stir and needs his first feeding.

Our summer slip, Don’t worry we will be back in the spring.

Morning coffee. Sometimes a quick walk on the docks is required. This morning I went to our summer slippage. Everything here seems fine. The ice is quite thick. None around our boat at the moment.

Breakfast Straight out of the pan.

Some times the chef eats as he works. After some breakfast we are ready to hit the road. Gather the gear and get out on the dock.

Most mornings he is smiling all the way to the car for his first nap of the day.

A VIEW FROM THE BOARDWALK

A VIEW FROM THE BOARDWALK

As you can see Wind Dreamer is nestled in with the rest of the Fleet.

A gorgeous day at the club. Time for a few chores.

First off grab a cart. Carrying gear on the docks can be quite hazardous. Use a cart when needed.

Next We will fill the boat. We try to do this every monday.

Filling the holding tank.

Filling the holding tank.

To fill the boat. A hose is submerged in the water beside our neighbouring boat. This end connects to Wind Dreamer’s shrink hose. There is another connection tied to the main dock. This connection has 150 feet of hose and gets connected to an outside winter proof faucet. We then fill the boat for 10 minutes. In the summer it usually takes 4 mins 20 seconds. If you’re lucky someone else might need to fill up, leaving them with the job of returning the hose to its original position.

Still filling the holding tank.

still filling it. But making a coffee. Great view for making coffee.

After Filling the holding tank I left the hose attached, two other residents took advantage of the warm weather and filled up as well. Little things like this is what makes it feel like a community.

I then took my coffee for a nice walk around the club. Here are some pictures from that walk.

SUNSET BEHIND THE BOAT AND THE CLUB HOUSE

SUNSET BEHIND THE BOAT AND THE CLUB HOUSE

Here is a photo of the Bow of the boat on deck in the winter. Ample room for storage. Maybe next year we can grow some winter plants in this space. :)

Most days we are working or visiting people so the days are mostly spent off the boat. But once dinner time comes around we are generally back. Lately dinner has been after sun down so here is a great sunset photo.

Some Nights we bbq, some nights we cook on the boat, and other nights we eat in the club for special occasions. Having options is amazing.

After Dinner It’s Story Time. Hunter loves when his cousin Ella stays over and reads from his favourite book. It’s about boats.

Some nights we watch movies.

Other nights we play board games. SABOTEUR is one of our favourites.

Next chore Pumping out the boat.

Our mobile pump out cart.

Our mobile pump out cart.

AFTER EVERYONE HAS GONE TO BED, WE PUMP WIND DREAMER OUT. WE USE THIS MOBILE PUMP OUT CART. IT ATTACHES THROUGH A SMALL OPENING IN THE SHRINK WRAP AND CONNECTS TO OUR PUMP OUT DECK FITTING. IT PUMPS FOR ABOUT 20 MINS AND IS THEN BROUGHT TO THE WASTE DEPOSIT. IT empties MUCH FASTER THAn PUMPING AND It gets returned TO THE STORAGE ROOM WHERE IT IS KEPT.

Finally, WE SAY GOODNIGHT TO WIND DREAMER AND SHE Rocks US OFF TO SLEEP. SNUG AS a BUG ON A BOAT IN THE HARBOUR.

PS. AT NIGHT WE pretend WIND DREAMER’s HEART GLOWS, by leaving a light on in the cockpit.
