SOUTHEAST ASIA: CHIANG RAI, THAILAND

We extended our stay in Chiang Mai an extra day, which allowed us to take a day trip to Chiang Rai We spent a full day visiting The White Temple (which is relatively new), The Blue Temple (even newer) and the Black Museum, featuring some amazing handcrafted sculptures, leather work and architecture. There isn't too much we can say about the places we visited, because the photos say it all.

WHITE TEMPLE

Due to lack of time, we chose to just do a day trip to Chiang Rai. BLUE TEMPLE

BLACK MUSEUM

Last stop, the Black House Museum (Baan Dam). It consists of about 40 buildings made mostly from wood carvings and they house many art pieces, including paintings, sculptures, furniture, animal hides and horns. This one wasn’t my favourite, but it was interesting to see nonetheless.
